Doing good in Port Elizabeth^^
Hello all,
Thanks for visiting my weblog:)
I've arrived here in Port Elizabeth safely in the evening two days ago WITHOUT my luggage, which was delivered yesterday with the locks broken and opened.. What a start! But for some reason, I didn't get too upset about it; rather thought this kind of things just happens!
In 30 mins time, we, 4 new volunteers, are going to meet the 23 boys.
Can't wait!
We all have raised some fund and can decide how it's gonna be spent.
So far, we've decided to paint one of the two boy's rooms (one for little ones and the other bigger ones) and draw some pictures on the walls.
Like always said here, we should keep in mind that we are not here to just give stuff we can buy them and end up spoiling them but to help them become independent so that they can live better back in their family and cope well with the society.
From that point of view, we'll ask the kids to help us with the paint job and also we'll put blackboards on their own lockers so that they have individual spaces to draw whatever they like. It'll be useful to use blackboards and chalk as kids keep coming in and going out of this house.
I'll try to keep my messages short and interesting to read.
Please visit again:D
Have a good day!!!
